Stealth

What it WANTED to be: Top Gun meets I, Robot

What is IS: Hot Shots meets Flight of the Navigator

That is the most ri-goddamn-diculous movie I've seen in a long long time.

I don't think a great movie like Hot Shots should be used for a Stealth referecne.

Hot Shots made me laugh, so did Stealth, even if that wasn't its intended purpose

I think at the end of the movie, the robot jet should have landed, the cockpit should have opened, and Johnny 5 should've come out of it

Or how about they're repairing the jet, and the scientist guy says, in a delightfully stereotypical Indian accent, "Wake up, Number Five..."

Dude, shut UP! Flight of the Navigator was my favorite movie when I was six years old!

No, wait. On second thought, it was probably Neverending Story.

No, wait... seven years old. Definitely that would make it Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

I mainly used the reference because of the talking ball of glowing circuits, and the fact that both of them enjoy listening to bad music for some apparent reason.

and yesss, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is an EXCELLENT film

and if it was TRYING to be those movies, it would've been awesome...but it was more like 2001: A Space Odyssey meets Fast and the Furious...man, I could go on for DAYS with these analogies!

i can smell a bad movie from a mile away...you should consult me at all times before going to see a movie, unless it's something that's OBVIOUSLY going to be awesome, like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"

I didn't WANT to see it, but [info]darkdisney was convinced that Jamie Foxx dies early on in the film...lo and behold...

He's black. Black men always die in those films.

With the exception of Deep Blue Sea where the blackER man dies and the fairer-skinned black man survives.

Well - thanks for the warning. Not that I pay for movies anyway, but hey - saved me some change just in case someone wanted to see it with me.

Peace!

It's movies like "Stealth" that make other countries hate us so much.

Why did they need to squander Oscar-winning talent like Jamie Foxx? Am I the only one who thinks that the role should have been given to L.L. Cool J?

[info]absinthetic

I was thinking the EXACT SAME THING....apparently Foxx had already signed on to play the supporting role before he won the Oscar

I could tell Stealth was going to suck balls from the billboard on the major highway over here. That, and it looked like a really horrible interpretation of a book I read by Joe Haldeman. The Island looks like a bad ripoff of an earlier movie with Ray Liottta called No Escape (which fucking rocked by the way).

...oh and Charlie and the Choco Factory didnt really do it for me. I liked it but the oompah loompah songs were annoying and plot-holed.

XD My friends call me a munchkin and an oompa loompa... half-hobbit, midget, little one.... man, I'm fucking short. My 12-year-old sister is taller than me. *goes and cries* HAH!, j/k, I don't cry.

is it worse than... uuuuuh..... Sider-Man 1? That movie was pretty bad. 2 was soooo much better...

XD my friend was complaining about the fact that in Batman Begins, they had the guy who shot the parents get shot when, in the comics, it was the Joker who shot the parents. Wow, that prolly made no sense.

[info]absinthetic

August 1 2005, 18:37:52 UTC 6 years ago

The Joker didn't kill the Waynes in the comics, it was Joe Chill. And I thought Spider-Man 1 was good, despite the insane amount of small details that drove me crazy.

Glad you corrected that "Joker" error: I was ready to loose some harsh invectives on him.

I will never trust Lisa to give me comic info again. Damn! HAH! I am such a poser. I cry now.
